Mesternes Mester

Kjersti Buaas Mesternes Mester

/// In September I went to Croatia to partake in some of the hardest physical and mental challenges I have ever done, with 9 other amazing, former competitive, professional athletes from Norway. Mesternes Mester is one of the most viewed TV shows in Norway and after being a part of the production I understand why it is so attractive. The people behind it are so positive and real, and the show is made to inspire all generations and families to use their bodies actively and minds creatively. I promise you that season 11 is filled with passion, love, team work, strength, realness and beauty!! Airing on NRK TV January 1st 2020!!!

Hvem tror du vinner den gjeve #mesternesmester pokalen i sesong 11?

Med harde, fysiske og mentale øvelser, settes det krav til styrke, balanse og vilje!!

PRESS RELEASE For immediate release

Celebrating TUDOR’s #BornToDare spirit, David Beckham joins Norwegian Olympic snowboard medallist Kjersti Buaas in a backcountry adventure in the Alps.

The TUDOR brand signature #BornToDare reflects both the history of the brand and what it stands for today. It refers to the vision of Hans Wilsdorf, founder of TUDOR, who manufactured his watches to withstand the most extreme conditions. It represents the adventures of the daring individuals who have achieved the extraordinary with a TUDOR watch on their wrist. #BornToDare is a testimony to TUDOR's pioneering and cutting-edge approach to watchmaking, leading to the brand's innovations becoming industry benchmarks.

In line with the brand’s signature daring spirit, and after sending David Beckham freediving underwater off Miami earlier this year, TUDOR recently invited their ambassador to step out of his comfort zone again for a backcountry snowboarding experience in the Alps. In a short video simultaneously released by Beckham, Kjersti Buaas and TUDOR, Beckham can be seen learning under the guidance of the Norwegian four-time Olympian and Olympic medallist in half-pipe, snowboarding. Climbing the mountain in the early hours wearing headlamps, the pair reach the top of a high-altitude slope with virgin snow and enjoy a secluded first-track down the mountain. “It's a great thing to be behind, and try and learn from a world-class athlete. It's been an incredible experience and I want to do more. What do we do next? I don't know. It's like we say, born to dare.”, Beckham said of his experience.

TUDOR BLACK BAY P01

On the mountain that day Beckham was wearing the Black Bay P01, an award-winning multi-purpose TUDOR sports watch based on a legendary prototype developed in the late 1960s for the US Navy. This robust watch is equipped with a high-performance TUDOR Manufacture calibre complete with silicon balance-spring and 70-hour power reserve. Buaas was wearing the Black Bay with burgundy bezel and matching fabric strap, a vintage-inspired diving watch in homage to over 60 years of perfecting the ideal time-keeping instrument for divers.

ABOUT KJERSTI BUAAS

She has competed on the professional World Snowboard Tour for 20 years and is one of few women to successfully transition from half-pipe to slopestyle, to big air and freeriding competitions. She has won medals in the Olympics, X Games and the US Open and been awarded many prestigious titles, including Onboard Magazine’s "Queen Of Style". Kjersti is known for adding extra ‘intention’ to her style and presence, both on and off the mountain. Exploring Australia

This is my first trip to Australia and so far it has been amazing. I came down here first and for most to compete in two snowboard contests, both a part of the World Snowboard Tour & the Australian slopestyle Tour. The first event called the Mile High, was held in a resort named Perisher. I qualified in to finals after only riding two days on my board after a long summer break. I also won best trick and received the award "Carlton 30". Aside from snowboarding I came down here to explore the stunning nature & unique wildlife Australia has to offer. After the contest in Perisher we drove to a resort called Thredbo that reminded me of Aspen in Colorado. The mountain there was fun to explore, they had some great snowboard parks and people are so friendly and helpful to tourists. When traveling between these resorts it is very common to see kangaroos, wombats, parrots and wild horses, as these areas all are located in and around national parks and forests. The most breathtaking drive was from Thredbo to Falls Creek in Victoria - Eukalyptus trees, rivers, wildlife... Had to stop more than a couple of times to capture and take in the beauty. Right now it is pouring rain/ snow outside. The contest called Stylewars has been postponed until tomorrow as forecast is promising sunshine. Check back in again to see more of my adventures from Aussie land.

The drive is long but exciting. It took a while to get used to the fact that you drive on the opposite side of the rode here :)
